The Edmonton Oilers are headed back to the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Despite losing to the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday, the Oilers were able to clinch their spot in the post-season after the Winnipeg Jets lost to the Philadelphia Flyers.
Edmonton is the first team in the Pacific Division to clinch a spot. With two regular-season games left on the season, they hold a record of 40-30-10 for 90 points.
The Oilers would have clinched earlier Saturday if they had earned at least one point against the Kings, but were also able to do so with any result in the Jets-Flyers game other than a Jets regulation win.
This marks the seventh straight year Edmonton has advanced to the playoffs. In both 2024 and 2025, the club reached the Stanley Cup Final but fell to the Florida Panthers.
